How do I use the Group Component?

Modified on Thu, 10 Oct at 7:27 AM

The Group Component is a powerful tool for applying Display Logic to multiple components at once. You can group various components, including Sections and Tiles, to control when they are shown or hidden together. While Groups don’t offer formatting options like Sections or Tiles, they are ideal for organizing and controlling large portions of your form with a single rule.

When should I use a Group?

Groups are ideal for scenarios where you want to apply the same Display Logic to multiple components at once, but don't have a strong need for formatting that collection of components (like adding borders and background colors).  You can group multiple Sections together to control when large portions of the form are shown or hidden.  Sections can contain components or Tiles of components.

Features & Configuration

Adding a Group to your form is simple. Select the Group option from the component library and drag it onto the canvas. You can then place Sections, Tiles, or other components inside the Group to control their visibility as a unit.

After placing the component, you can customize a few properties in the right-hand panel:

Logic

Display Logic
Use Display Logic to control when this Group is shown or hidden based on other form inputs.
Keep in Mind...
If the Group is hidden, all components inside it will also be hidden — even if their individual display logic is set to show. The Group’s display logic takes priority over the components within it.
