How do I edit existing Permissions?

Understanding the Existing Permissions Layout

You will see a series of rows on the Permissions side of the Role Menu. Permissions are organized by different sections of the Droplet Application. Each row will contain the existing Permissions and any conditions for that section. 

The image below shows a list of Permissions that includes two Permissions for Submissions, one for Forms, and one for Organization. The Submission's View Permission has a conditional that says that someone with this role can only View  Submissions "if the Submission is assigned to them." The Forms and Organization Permissions do not have any conditions so the Permissions listed in their row will apply in all cases.

Existing Permissions have two icons next to them. You can use the red trash can icon to delete that row of Permissions or you can use the blue pencil icon to open a menu to edit that Permission.

Editing an Existing Permission

When you press the pencil icon to edit an existing Permission, a menu will open. Use any of the down arrows to open the options. 

The first menu item is "Label" and references the section of Droplet you would like this Permission to be for. When you change the label, the options available in the "Add Actions for this Permission" dropdown will also change to the actions that are relevant to that section of the Droplet Application. 

Adding Actions expands access to the section of Droplet indicated by the Label. The default is "View" which cannot be added or removed because we must give someone read-only access to that section in order to give them further access as you add Actions.

Use the checkboxes to select as many Actions as that Role will need. Use the gray "X" or uncheck to remove selected Actions. 

If there is an existing condition on this Permission, you can change the condition using the dropdown. Or you can use the red trash can to remove the condition entirely.
