How do I view a Submission's Activity Log?

The Activity Log is a powerful but often overlooked tool that helps you track the full history of a form submission. If someone in your organization asks, “What happened with this submission?” the Activity Log provides all the answers. It’s especially useful for troubleshooting issues or understanding where a submission is in the workflow.

It’s a Submission Timeline!

The Activity Log will display a timeline of events related to the submission, including:

Assigned or Reassigned Users
See who has been assigned or reassigned to the submission, the workflow step they were on, and the exact time they advanced it. You can hover over the user’s name to view their email address.
Workflow Step
The log includes which step the submission was on when any action was taken.
Notifications
Any notifications sent as part of the workflow will appear here as well.
Archive/Unarchive
View who archived or unarchived the submission, and the time this was done.
Submission Version Updates
If the submission was migrated to a new form version, you can see who migrated it and when.
Rejection or Sent Back for Changes
If the submission was rejected or sent back, the log will include the reason provided, making it easier to understand why.

To access the Activity Log:

1

Navigate to the All Submissions page.

2

Select a submission by checking the checkbox to its left.

You can only view the Activity Log for one submission at a time. If the Activity Log option is greyed out in your Actions menu, it is because you have multiple submissions selected.
3

Click the Actions button to expand the menu, then select Activity Log.
